Rooftop Cargo Box And Kayak Carrier For A 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon

I am wanting a roof top cargo box for my outback. I am wondering what my options are if I want one that will let the hatchback open completely and also allow me room to have a kayak carrier on the other side. I know the thule sidekick will, but will any of the cargo boxes with more room in them work also? Thank you

Seems like you have a factory roof rack on your 2017 Subaru Outback. If that's the case make sure that your crossbar spread is between 24 and 42 inches. Measure from the middle of the front crossbar to the point of where your hatch and roof meet. If it's more than 57 inches then you can use the SkyBox 21 # Y07337. This box is 36 inches wide so if that isn't using too much space it will be great in addition to your Kayak Carrier # e98878. If you're wanting a bit more room on your roof then you can get the smaller SkyBox 12 # Y07334. This one is only 24 inches wide so that should leave plenty of room left on your roof. Both of these boxes will give you more room than the Sidekick.
