Troubleshooting Brake Controller Not Showing Connection to Trailer

Question:

Working on a 2010 Nissan Xterra. Here are all the parts ordered from etrailer.com. -C56226 Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector -18140 No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket - Short -PK12711U Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware - Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Vehicle End -C51110 Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Time Delayed -C51382 Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In After installation, all lights on the trailer work correctly, but the trailer brake controller is not recognizing the trailer and is not activating the trailer brakes. It just shows a green light indicating it is ready when the vehicles brake pedal is pushed. I tried a different vehicle on the trailer, and it did recognize the trailer and activated the trailer brakes. Everything purchased was supposed to be plug nfoot play and everything connected properly. Any thoughts on why the trailer brakes are not working correctly?

Since you were able to show a connection when using a different vehicle that would indicate that the issue is on the vehicle side of the wiring and is somewhere on the brake output circuit of the vehicle between the 7-way and the blue wire of the brake controller. Since it's a new 7-way install this most likely is related to a missing or blown fuse under the hood for the brake output circuit. But you can check also that the 7-way is seated properly by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
