Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch For 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 With OEM Prep Package

Question:

I am trying to decide between the BandW manual slider and the Demco auto slide. I have a 2021 Chevrolet 2500 with OEM prep. pucks I am purchasing a Cougar trailer with what they call turn right technologyinch and is supposed to turn 80+ degrees without a slider. This is my first 5th wheel and I dont know if I truly need an auto slide. I would assume that the Hijacker is much heavier than the BandW? Any advice would be appreciated.

For a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with a 6-3/4' bed we always recommend using a slide so the nose of the camper doesn't come in contact with the cab of the vehicle when tuning. I am not familiar with the "turn right technology". It sounds like the fifth wheel king pin may have a rotating turret. Which means the king pin will rotate directly under the nose of the trailer instead of over the hitch head in the back of the truck.

That all being said, I would still recommend a slider for your size bed. With a rotating turret being used on a fifth wheel hitch, either the turret would need to be locked so it doesn't spin or the pin would need to be locked in the hitch so it doesn't turn. You cannot have two separate pivot points.

For your application I recommend the B&W Companion Item # BWRVK3775.
