How do You Install a Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells?

Question:

I just received my Y01-130B Rhino Rack fiberglass topper rack system. I am installing it on a AIRE topper. I cut the tracks to the proper length and am ready to install them. The AIRE topper is thicker in the middle and thinner where the roof curves to meet the sidewall. Do you install the track so the bolts are going through the thinner roof or the thicker part of the topper roof?

The manual for the Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y01-130B instructs that the tracks be placed closest to the outside edges of the canopy as possible (this is where you said that the roof curves thinner). This will ensure the maximum strength of the rails. With that being said, it is important to check the underside of the canopy to make sure that the knobs have sufficient clearance to be located. I went ahead and attached the relevant screenshot from the manual below this answer.
