Solution for Installing Hitch on 2021 Tiguan with no Weld Nuts in Frame

Question:

Is there a hardware kit for this I hitch? I ordered it but my subframe in my 2021 Tiguan SE does not have the nut s nor the bolts. I don’t see anywhere I can a nut easily to bolt this hitch on. There is absolutely not a threaded in the subframe. What should I do?

If you can access an open end of the frame (looks like you could) you could fishwire a new carriage bolt in place of the weldnut. Otherwise you may have to weld the hitch on or see if a local garage like you mentioned could come up with a way to re-weld in a weld nut.

For a bolt leader you could then use the # C58400 but you'd need to source the carriage bolts and blocks locally. Normally it's an M10 bolt that should be there.
