Can 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Have Towing Capacity Increased

Question:

Were looking to buy a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 3.5L v6 without a towing package. Manual says if a hitch is installed it can tow about 2000. Can we increase that towing capacity to 3,000? The dealer said we can by adding an in line cooler. Does that sound legit?

If a Jeep dealer gives you the green light to increase your towing capacity by installing a transmission cooler like the # D13503 they are the authority on that and you can trust them. I'd probably want to have that changed capacity in writing or some how formalized especially if you are still under warranty.

The Curt hitch # C13172 is the correct fit for a trailer hitch as well.
