Replacement 7-way Connector With 5 Wiring Harness For 2001 Ford E250 XLT
Question:
Hi, This looks like what I need to replace the damaged plug on my van. I am concerned it will not be long enough though. It is just at 5 feet from the hitch plug to where the connecters in the wire are. Do you have a wire extension kit or a harness like this made for the long vans like mine? Thanks for your time.

I have a universal option for you, but the only replacement 7-way connector confirmed to fit your 2001 Ford E250 XLT Van is the Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connectors # 74682 which has a harness that is roughly 12" long.
Since you are needing a harness that is 5' I recommend using the 7-Way Super Sealed Connector w/7' Cable - Car End # 50-87-007 which has a 7' cord that can be cut to the length needed for your van, but will need to be hardwired to your vehicle.
You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm the functions of your factory wiring and match them to the functions of the # 50-87-007 which are as follows:
Blue wire is the trailer brake output wire
Black wire is the 12v power wire
White wire is the ground wire
Brown wire is the right turn and stop wire
Red wire is the left turn and stop wire
Green wire is the running light wire
Yellow wire is the auxiliary/reverse light wire
I recommend using heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-5 and # DW05745-5 for a weather tight connection.
I included a video review of the # 50-87-007 for you to take a look at.
