Trailer Hitch Tongue Weight Reduction Using Reducer On A 1-1/4 Inch Hitch

Year: 2019 Make: Toyota Model: Corolla hatchback Version: SE I would like to purchase the Curt trailer Hitch. Also I would like to purchase a 2inch adapter so I can add 60x24inch cargo hitch carrier. Watching the etrailer youtube video about 1.25 to 2 inch adapter says the TW weight will be reduced by 50 percent. The Curt trailer Hitch has a TW of 200 pounds. Question: Adding a 1.25inch to 2inch adapter would this reduce my TW of 200 pounds to 100 pounds of carrying capacity?

When using any extender or adapter like this one # HT5R you will loose 50% of your hitch's capacity. This hitch # C11265 will fit your 2019 Toyota Corolla. I recommend getting an aluminum carrier like this one # C18100 because it's only 29 lbs so you can still get 71lbs of cargo loaded up.
