Replacement Trailer Tires for 155/80R12

Question:

Replacing Titan ST 155/80R13 Load B radial. on a 16 ft shorelander boat trailer. I know they dont make these anymore and I read on your site that an good option would be 5.30x12, is that correct? 1 Considering theres little to no highway driving, mainly short trips on gravel roads, would you recommend radial or bias ply? 2 5.30 x12 C or B?

I do recommend the 5.30x12 as it is by far the closest to your current 155/80R12. I put the sizes below for you to compare.

155/80R12
-Width- 6.1"
-Height- 21.8"

5.30x12
-Width- 5.5"
-Height- 21.9"

I would recommend using bias ply for your driving as radial tires are more at home on the highways. For the load rating I would stick with the same rating that the trailer manufacturer recommended. This information can be found on the Data Tag on the front drivers side of the trailer. If you choose a heavier load rating the trailer is more prone to bounce due to the stiffer tires. Lower rating could cause a blowout to occur.

Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 5.30-12 - Load Range B # AM10064
Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 5.30-12 - Load Range C # AM10066
Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 5.30-12 - Load Range D # AM10068
