Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2020 Jeep Gladiator with Rugged Ridge Arcus Bumper

Question:

We purchased a 2020 Jeep Gladiator with after market upgrades including a Rugged Ridge Arcus Front Bumper and specialty tires. We want to purchase a RoadMaster Falcon All-Terrain tow bar and accessories needed but not sure if we need the base plate or if we can use the Arcus bumper d rings for towing. In addition, we want to make sure we know exactly what type of braking system we would need to purchase. We will be towing it with a 2010 winnebago Journey with Air brakes. any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It does look like the D-ring/Tow Recovery hooks on the Rugged Ridge Arcus Front Bumper connect directly to the frame of your 2020 Jeep Gladiator, which is required in order to be able to flat tow with the D-rings, so you're well equipped with your new Gladiator. To use the Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain tow bar # RM-522 you'll need to also use the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts - 1" Thick # RM-035-1, which will allow you to do adapt the tow bar to connect directly to those tow hooks.

In addition to the base plate/D-ring adapters and tow bar, you'll also need safety chains, tow bar wiring, supplemental braking and possibly a high/low adapter. I've provided a short list of the parts I recommend to complete your flat towing package below.

- Safety Chains: Roadmaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Supplemental Braking: Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motorhomes with Air Brakes # SM99243

For the high/low adapter, I've linked a helpful article we put together that outlines the process for measuring, as well as provided a link for the available selection of those adapters you can choose from to make sure you're towing with your tow bar level. I've also linked some review and installation videos of these parts I've mentioned that you can check out, as well.
