What Hitch/Bike Rack Combination Will Work For Electric Bikes on a 2008 Honda Civic?
Question:
Hi there. I need to transport a 60 lb. ebike on my 2008 Honda Civic. I was looking at the Swagman Current Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes but it says it needs a Class II hitch. Could you tell me which hitch I should get for this? I want to be sure and get the right combination of rack and hitch. I would consider any other rack also if it would fit my Honda. Thanks for your help.

For an electric bike rack that fits a Class I hitch, the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 will work perfectly. This rack is a top-of-the-line rack that includes an aluminum ramp for loading, tilting technology, and a key-lock security system. It also includes an extra slot if you choose to add an additional bike to it.
As far as the hitch, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11391 is a guaranteed fit for your 2008 Civic and has a maximum tongue weight capacity of around 200 pounds. This hitch also requires the stabilization strap # 18050 when using the hitch to carry an unsupported load like a bike rack or a cargo carrier to support the load.
