Sealing Openings During Installation of Curt Trailer Hitch # 13390 On 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
Do I need to worry about filling the enlarged hole that I used to feed the bolts though? Should I use epoxy so water and debris wont cause the frame to rust?

It is not a requirement to fill any holes created during the installation of the Curt Class III 2-Inch Trailer Hitch # 13390 on your 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon. The bolts will be tight enough when the hitch is installed to maintain a tight seal.
If you would like to seal the holes, you can use spray paint or aerosol undercoat to spray the bare metal prior to attaching the hitch. You would need to let the spray dry before hitch installation.
I have provided links to the installation instructions and to a video showing the installation of this hitch on a 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon. While not the same model year as your vehicle, the installation technique is the same.
