Will the Yakima Skybox 21 fit my 2010 Acura MDX Tech 5 Door with factory rails/crossbars and allow enough space for the trunk door to fully open?

The Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box - 21 cu ft - Black Carbonite # Y07337 will most likely fit your 2010 Acura MDX crossbars, but we will need to look at a few measurements to verify.

Make sure your crossbar spread is between 24" and 42". Crossbar spread is the distance from the center of one crossbar to the center of the next crossbar (see attached photo). You will also want to make sure your crossbars are no more than 3-1/2" wide and no more than 1-11/16" tall. If all this checks out then you are all set to install the Yakima Skybox 21 or many other rooftop cargo boxes as many of the rooftop boxes have similar requirements.

If your measurements tell you that your crossbars won't be compatible, then I recommend using Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack - Aero Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Aluminum - 58" Long # MPG216 which is a very affordable yet useful roof rack.
