Compatibility of Thule TH819 Canoe Carrier with Rola Sport Series Roof Rack
Question:
Our canoe is 37inch wide and Id like to purchase the Thule Portage canoe rack attachment to attach to model 59721. Do you think Ill have any problems wit this plan? I own a 2010 Toyota Matrix. Thanks!

The crossbars used by the discontinued Rola 59721 have about 42 inches of usable length, which will be enough to accommodate the Thule # TH819 Portage canoe carrier and the 37 inch width of your canoe.
The Thule Portage is compatible with the 3-1/8 inch crossbar width of your Rola roof rack, and will work as long as the crossbar spread (center to center distance apart) is between 24-36 inches and the weight of the canoe is less than the 100 lb capacity of the Rola roof rack.
