Troubleshooting Brake buddy on Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Brake buddy set up fine, brake away switch install seemed simple enough. The I ran the Brake Buddy through its bleeding process and on the final push it stayed in. I trouble shot the wiring again but could not find a problem . It seems like the brake away is telling it to apply full brakes all the time????

If you are of the impression that a faulty signal is being sent from your Brake Buddy, # HM39524, I suggest you remove all power for no less than 15 minutes allowing the unit to reset. We want to ensure you do not have any vacuum pressure built. If on resuming testing you have a repeated error in operation check the signal from your breakaway switch, ensure switch is fully seated. From the Tech Rep at the manufacturer, they also suggest that you double check wiring at switch housing to ensure the brown and red wires are not touching, this could cause a false signal to engage the brake away.
Ensure the unit is placed level on the floor of vehicle, adjusting the risers as needed. Leverage of the actuating arm is effected if not adjusted correctly the goal is that the arm is level/parallel to the floor.
