I am getting a 2021 2500 4x4 with 8ft bed including hitch prep. I was told that a CURT 16140 20K fifth wheel hitch was what I wanted but I see you have a C84FR are they the same?

The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # C16140 is for above bed rails and would not work in your truck without an adapter. The # C84FR is the same hitch with different legs allowing it to fit directly into your pucks without the need of an adapter.
