Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and 4 Bike Rack For Dutchman Aspen Trail 1700BH Trailer

Question:

Hi. Looking to put a hitch receiver on our Dutchman Aspen trail 1700BH. Which receiver would be best for me to install please? Also we are wanting to carry bikes on the back using the hitch receiver, I hear max is 4 bikes so we would be looking for one that carries 4 for the RV. Thanks

As long as the frame on your Dutchman Aspen Trail 1700BH is between 22" - 66" wide I recommend the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 66" Wide # C13704 which works with box, I beam, and C channel frames.

The # C13704 has a tongue weight rating of 500lbs, and a trailer weight rating of 5000lbs and would be perfect for carrying a bike rack.

If your frame is wider than 66" you will need the # 13703 instead that fits frames up to 72" wide, but has lower capacities at 350lb tongue weight and 3500lb trailer weight.

For a compatible bike rack I recommend the Swagman Original - 4 Bike Rack for 2" Trailer Hitches # S64400 which is rated for use on your trailer and will accommodate 4 bikes weighing up to 35lbs each.
