Yes, the HitchMate TireStep # HE4040 is adjustable to easily reach your vehicle's roof or inside the the bed of truck. Simply place the arms over your tire and adjust to fit, and you'll have a stable platform that supports up to 400 lbs. This will fit tires up to 12-1/2" wide. From information available to me your 2016 Ford Escape has the 205 or 235 width tires as stock which are 8" or slightly more than 9" in width.
