Parts Needed to Wire up 7-Way and Brakes on Trailer

Question:

I am building a 16 foot utility trailer and am looking for a light kit with wiring harness for lights and 1 axle with brakes. Do you have any thing like that? I need a 7 pin plug and prefer LED oval lights with a grommet

The best place to start with when wiring up a trailer with brakes is a 7-way and junction box like the part # HS381-9000. You'll mount the box on the trailer chassis somewhat near the coupler and then from there run wires to each of the light circuits and brakes as needed. For the brake and ground circuit you'd want to use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 which we offer by the foot.

The rest of the circuits would be great with 14 gauge wire.
