Is Equal-i-zer Best Weight Distribution Hitch For 7,500 lb Travel Trailer

Question:

Hello! Im having trouble picking a weight distribution hitch. I have a Sundance XLT ID24BH It is my first trailer. The tongue weight is 560 lbs and the dry weight is 5,265 lbs. The GVWR is 7,560. Ive heard great things about the Equil-i-zer but the best fit is the 1,000lbs TW / 10,000 GTW version. Will that hitch make for too stiff of a ride since my trailer is too light for it? My trailer is too heavy for the 600 lbs TW/6,000lbs GTW version, but I am worried it is too light for this larger version. Thanks! I appreciate any advice.

You ask some really good questions, and we can help you out with the best weight distribution hitch for your 7,500 lb GVWR Sundance, which will absolutely be the Equal-i-zer you mentioned:

- Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # EQ37100ET

The reason why this system is the right fit is because you need one where your total tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity, which for this hitch is 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. The tongue weight you want to base that off of is with a fully loaded and ready to go trailer, and tongue weight is generally in the range of about 12% of your trailer's GVWR, which would be about 900 lbs for your 7,500 lb GVWR Sundance.

So it won't give you a stiffer ride, it will actually be perfect for your trailer. Added to that, the quality you heard about regarding the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET was completely accurate due to its exceptional sway control. It has 4 points of sway control via friction in the spring bars as well as in the head unit, which stops sway better than any other system. This will give you the most controlled - and safest - towing experience possible.

I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well of the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET.
