What is the Correct Ball Mount for Curt Trailer Hitch C11227 on a 1994 Toyota Celica ST
Question:
I have a 1994 Toyota Celica with a Curt Trailer Hitch Code: C11227 I will be using this ball: C40018 I have this receiver already not sure if I am going to use this though: C45503 My question is will this C45025 be a better option for my Celica for bumper clearance and turning ratio and better to level off my trailer? or should I stick to the C45503 the one I already own: Thanks for your expert advice.

This is actually a lot easier to determine than you might think. With any Class I or II trailer hitch you will need to use the ball mount recommended in the hitch instructions. The use of any other ball mount can result in voiding the hitch warranty. The reason is that on Class I and II hitches the ball mount recommended has been tested for and approved for use as the best option for those hitch and vehicle combinations.
For trailer hitch # C11227 the recommended ball mount is # C45503. This ball mount accepts a ball with a 3/4 inch diameter shank so you can use # C40018. This is a chrome ball so you are going to see some corrosion. The recommended ball, # A-82 for a 2 inch diameter is stainless steel which is much better for corrosion resistance.
