Recommended B&W 5th Wheel Hitch For Towing 18000lb Trailer With 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
Question:
The trailer we just ordered has a GVWR of 18000. Should I get the 20000 or 25000 and how do they compare to the Curt hitches

Since the trailer you ordered has a GVWR of 18000lbs the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # BWRVK3710 would be perfect as it will fit directly into the OEM Pucks in your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with the 8' Bed.
With that said if you think down the road you may upgrade to a heavier trailer, it would be better to go ahead and get the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs # BWRVK3715 that way you do not need to get a new hitch when that time comes. Having a hitch that is overrated does not hurt, and just offers that much more security since it is being used so much under its maximum.
The B&W 5th wheel hitches are arguably the best 5th wheel hitches on the market. They are very easy to use, extremely durable, have great features like the 1" thick dual jaws that offer 360 degrees of king pin contact leading to a smoother and more secure ride, and that the pivot arms can be rotated giving you 2" more trailer to cab clearance. B&W is a very highly regarded brand and stands behind their products by offering limited lifetime warranty on both of the hitches mentioned.
I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
