Are Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Good Replacements For 6 Inch Wide Triangular Equalizers
Question:
I have a 2016 heartland 5th Wheel and its time to replace the old worn out bushings and equalizers. I want to upgrade the equalizers, but I don't want to lower the trailer anymore than it is, if anything, I would like to raise the back by 1/4 inch or so to help level the trailer since I am on the road so much. My existing equalizer spacing is 6 inch horizontal Center Hole to Center Hole and 5 inch diagonal center hole to center hole. I like the reviews of the Road Armor, and looks like a close replacement, but I am concerned it will lower my trailer. Is there a upgrade that would work better? How does the Road Armor compare to the Dexter E-Z Flex? Do they have a size that would fit better?

So based on the measurements you mentioned, the equalizer you have now is likely the Triangular Equalizer # TREQ310, and for that the best option for an equalizer upgrade kit is definitely the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740.
This kit will absorb vibration and give you a much smoother ride by far, and will be a better option than the E-Z Flex due to the height difference. The E-Z Flex is a good kit, but too short for your needs, as there aren't shackle straps that will be able to accommodate the height difference well since you are concerned about lowering the trailer. What you will need are slightly shorter shackle straps than what you have now; since the standard is 2-5/8 inch shackle straps, if that's what you have now you can make up the difference with the Shackle Link - 2-1/4" Long # LC122487 or 2" Long # TRSL200.
You will need 8 of the straps to complete your set up, as well as 10 of the Zinc Shackle Bolt # TRFA73Z916DLNZ.
If you have different sized shackle straps, I have added a link below to our entire selection, as well as a link to a video review of the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740.
