Weight Distribution Hitch For Trailer With V-Nose over A-Frame

Question:

I only have about 27inch or so to go back on my trailing hitch due to a drive out front. I want a weight distribution hitch with sway somethig like the curt trutrack, i see minimum mounting is like 278.5 from front of ball hitch, is the equalization hitch even going to work if i have to go to like 25inch or 26inch or is there something made to fit these? Gross trailer weight fully loaded will be around 6000, its about 25ft long from hitch to bumper and just over 8ft tall ground to top of trailer.

Expert Reply:

Because of the V-nose on the front of your trailer that extends over the A-frame your choices for a weight distribution hitch and sway control is very limited. If the sides of your A-frame are exposed, like in the sample photo I have attached, then I have a solution.

You can use the Curt # C17062 Weight Distribution System. However, where this system uses an over-the-frame lift bracket (page 4 of attached install instructions), you will instead need to use the Curt # C17005 Bolt On Chain Hangers that only attach to the side of the A-Frame.
