Anti-Sway Weight Distribution Hitch for 6,000 lb GVWR Airstream Travel Trailer
Question:
I’m looking at purchasing a 23’ airstream international travel trailer. I have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with a 5.7L V8. It is equipped with a tow package including a transmission cooler. I’m not sure if the gearing ratio. The specs state that it has a towing capacity of 7,200 Lbs. I’m a little familiar with towing but want to make sure I’m protecting my investment and my family. That being said, the dry weight of the trailer is 4,800 with a GVWR of 6000 lbs. Airstream recommended installing a sway bar system which I agree 100 I’ll need but I’m looking at your products and it seems as though you might have something that would work as well. Do you have any recommendations for my setup?

It's definitely a smart idea to get a weight distribution hitch with sway control as it is going to make towing your Airstream safer because you'll have more control over your Jeep when you travel. And we do have the perfect system for an Airstream with a 6,000 lb GVWR, which is from Fastway:
- Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-1000
This system is rated for total tongue weights (TTW) between 600 lbs and 1,000 lbs, and and a 6,000 lb GVWR travel trailer is going to have a TTW right in the middle of these capacities, which is exactly what you are looking for so it's perfect for you.
I love the Fastway system because of its high-quality sway control, which comes via friction in the spring bars, so you won't have to worry about your Airstream swaying back-and-forth. It is also easier to set up than other systems, using clamp-on brackets so you won't have to drill along your trailer frame.
Our customers who have used the Fastway # FA92-00-1000 regard it very highly; with more than 350 reviews (thus far) it has averaged nearly 5 out of 5 stars, as you can see on the product page. This system comes with everything you need for installation though to help install the hitch ball it is recommended you use socket # EQ70-00-4800.
The only other thing you will need is a hitch ball, which depends on the size of your Airstream's coupler; you'll either need 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6100 or 2" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6080.
I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well of the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-1000.
