Class V Trailer Hitch for 2002 Ford F-350 That is Compatible With Spare Tire

Question:

Hi there, I am looking to spec and purchase a hitch for my 2002 f350 supder duty. I need to maximize the spare tire location as I keep a 35 spare under there with the factory ford hitch. I am also keen on keeping the hitch as far out to the rear as possible, so it is flush with or extending past the step bumper. Also would like to keep it tight to the frame, not dropped down in elevation and class V if possible. Do you have any recommendations?

I took a look at each hitch for your 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and was able to find one option for a Class V hitch that will work with a spare tire, and is near flush with your bumper, which is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT45508.

This hitch will require you to remove your factory hitch, and in regard to keeping it tight to the frame, the brackets are, but the hitch tube is below the bumper (I'm not sure if by "tight to the frame" you meant you wanted the crosstube to be concealed). The tube would be visible for each hitch though, and is what allows the receiver to be flush with the bumper.

I have added a photo a customer sent in of this hitch on his F-350 so you can see how it will look on yours, and I've also added a link below to the instructions for you to check out of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT45508.
