What is the Pin Weight Capacity of the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter
Question:
I have a new body style 2007 Chev Crew Cab 2500 shortbed. My trailer is 03 Jazz with gross weight of 10,500 and empty of 7700. Dont know the pin weight. Will this hitch work?

The pin weight of the trailer should be with the other specs or in the owners literature. It could also be on a sticker or plate on the pin box. The Convert-A-Ball adapter, # CAB-C5GX1216, has a pin weight capacity of 4,000 pounds but if you determine that not to be enough then I recommend the Ranch Hitch, # AM3139, with a pin weight capacity of 6,000 pounds.
These offset adapters will not provide adequate extra clearance for a short bed truck because the pivot point of the trailer does not change. I have included a link to a video review of this adapter for you.
