Adapter to go From 6-Way on Vehicle to 7-Way on Trailer

My RV 2002 Monaco Diplomat has a 6 wire trailer harness. Red wire brake, green right turn, yellow left turn, gray backup, and brown tail lights. My trailer is a modern 7 way plug with electric brakes. Is there a converter that allows this to work or a specific way to wire it?

The easiest solution would be a 6-way to 7-way adapter like part # 337TC1067P which will plug right into your vehicle and trailer to give you exactly what you need.

My contact at Blue Ox was able to confirm that in their Coiled Electrical Cord with 6-Way Round Plugs #BX8862 the wires gauges do vary. The ground wire is 12-gauge but all other circuit wiring is 16-gauge.

The adapter you'd need for going from a 6-way on your truck to a 7-way on your trailer is going to be the part #337TC1067P. The adapter you mentioned actually would be the opposite direction and would not work.

There's a really simple solution to convert a 6-way to a 7-way with the part #337TC1067P which would plug right in to your current connector and give you a 7-way.

I attached a picture that has a diagram of how a 6-way wiring harness is pinned out. The center pin is the 12 volt power circuit and the pin in the 1:00 position on the female socket as you face the open connector is the ground circuit.
