Parts Needed to Add a Trailer Brake Controller to a 2011 Ford E-350
Question:
I have a 2011 ford e350 that I have installed the t- one part# 118551 . We are now going to install a brake contoller that I already have . I also have a 7 pole plug that I will hard wire to the 4 pole plug from the t-one 118551 . My Question is Will the t-one 118551 have any effect on the trailer brake or trailer brake have any effect on t- one 118551 since your running a power source for the t-one part #118551 and the brake controller from the battery.

The power used by a trailer wiring harness like # 118551 only powers the trailer lights and will not have any affect on a brake controller or the 7-Way nor will either of those items affect the 118551.
Since the 4-Way only has the lighting functions, when you hardwire the 7-Way you will need to run additional wires for the remaining functions. I have included a link to our wiring FAQ article with diagrams of various trailer connectors that you can use when hardwiring in the 7-Way.
I recommend an installation kit # 5506 for 6 to 8 brake assemblies. I have also incldued a link to an FAQ article on hardwiring in a brake controller that should be helpful.
