Solution to Add Bike Carrier and Cargo Carrier to Hitch on Class C Motorhome

Question:

We have a Class C Born Free. 5,000 hitch. Im trying to figure out clearances. Im looking at a purchase of a Role 59502 cargo carrier. As well as the Role 59119 cargo carrier bag. In addition, I want to purchase the Hollywood RV Rider bike rack. Im picturing the bike rack extending over the top of the cargo carrier this making it useless. I know you have hitched that allow for two receivers but- and if it matters, I happen to a tall guy 66 so a little more lift from the ground up into the bike rack is something to keep in mind. Your thoughts?

I may have a solution for you on this, but there are two issues here. The first is obviously the clearance of trying to stack a cargo basket and bike rack on top of each other; I don't see a way that this is going to be possible regardless of what type of dual hitch you might use. The second is that using a dual hitch adapter that would give you the ability to carry two accessories, would reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50% so it almost defeats the purpose of being able to carry multiple accessories in a lot of cases.

With all of that said, if you only need to carry 2 bikes then the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack w/ Cargo Carrier for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # HR1450Z-85 is a combination bike rack and cargo carrier that would give you both accessories you're looking for. This rack is rated for use on the back of a Class C RV and the cargo carrier can be loaded with up to 100-lbs of cargo when used with the bike rack.

For a water resistant bag that would fit in the cargo carrier that comes with the Hollywood Racks package you can use the etrailer # e98990.

This would be my recommended configuration for you to carry cargo and bikes with your Class C motorhome. I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to have a look at, as well.
