Determining Correct Replacement 3500lb Axle For Carson Standard Car Hauler
Question:
I am looking to replace an axle on my Carson standard car hauler trailer. It has 3500# axle with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern. I cant find that axle on your website do you have something that would work for a replacement?

I may have an option but you are correct that we do not offer a 3500lb axle with 5 on 5 bolt pattern hubs already installed. You would need to purchase and axle without hubs and purchase the correct hubs for your application separately.
To determine which axle will fit your Carson Standard Car Hauler you will need to take two measurements from your current axle which are the hub face to hub face measurement, and spring center to spring center measurement as shown in the included diagram.
Of these two measurements the hub face to hub face measurement is the most important as the spring seats can be removed and new ones welded on in the correct location if needed.
For example the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 7359765 is a 3500lb axle that has a 95" hub face to hub face measurement, and 80" spring center to spring center measurement. If this matches your current axle this would be a great option which would use Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K to give you the 5 on 5 bolt pattern you are looking for, and Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA for compatible trailer brakes.
Another option would be to remove your current axle and install the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System-3500lbs # ASR3500S05 which would replace your current axle and be bolted to the frame of your trailer. This system does not require leaf springs due to the built in AEON progressive-rate main spring, but it is a good idea to add a 2" square tube between both assemblies for additional support which you can find at a local fabrication shop.
The Timbren # ASR3500S05 uses the same Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K and Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA.
If you would prefer a standard axle, just let me know the hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center measurements and I would be happy to see if we have an axle that matches those measurements.
I included a video for all of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
