Securing Bike on Thule Easy Fold

Question:

I love the concept of the Thule Easy fold bike rack rack but I have a concern about the locking arm mechanism not the locking crank that replaces a hitch pin. What keeps the lever from popping out to the open position ?

I agree the Thule Easy Fold # TH903202 is a cool design. Its ability to accommodate so many different style bikes is what makes it one of our favorites around the shop. When transporting bikes the clamp that secures the bike must be locked. The arm can not be adjusted or loosened if the clamp is locked. Once the clamp is unlocked you can loosen the clamp to give you access to the release lever to make any adjustments to the arm.

The base of the clamp is what covers the lever that clamps the arm around the base of the bike rack. You would need to manually pull the cover back to gain access to open up that clamp. I attached a video we made about this bike rack that shows how this works.
