Is the Pollak Trailer Connector Adapter # PK12728 Rated For A Constant 40 Amp 12V Load?
Question:
Are any of these hacks rated to supply a constant 40amp 12 volt load as the Lance proprietary connector does?

Expert Reply:
Both the Lance proprietary connector and the Pollak Trailer Connector Adapter # PK12728 will be able to handle a constant 12 Volt load. After reading the Lance Proprietary Connector information, it states that in order to "protect your truck's 12 volt system from overload, a 40-amp circuit breaker # 9510 should be installed at the power source under the hood". Both of these connectors will perform the same with a 40 amp circuit breaker installed under the hood. Check your vehicles owners manual to see the layout of your fuse box to see what that wiring connects to under the hood.
