How to Determine if Thule Roadway 2-Bike Rack Will Clear 2017 Jeep Wrangler Spare Tire

will this Thule 2 bike hitch carrier fit a 2017 jeep wrangler with the spare tire on the back, like all wranglers have? Or do you have to buy an extender for the hitch.

While it is likely the Thule Camber 2-Bike Rack # TH9058 will fit and clear the spare tire on your 2017 Jeep Wrangler, to make sure this (or any other Thule rack) can clear, you'll need to do a quick measurement.

Just take something with a straight edge like a yardstick and hold it against the back of your Jeep's spare tire and then use a tape measure to find the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole to the straight edge and that's the amount of clearance you will need (like in the accompanying photo).

The Roadway measures 11 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the mast, so you would need the measurement to the back of your Jeep's spare tire to be just under that for the rack to work, otherwise you'd need an adapter, the Curt Hitch Extender # C45791.
