Recommended Bike Rack for Benno Boost E-Bike With 49.4 Inch Wheelbase

Question:

Hi, I have a Benno Boost E electric bike. Its wheelbase is 49.4. I know the Thule EasyFold XT says it can accommodate a wheel base of 48, but I wanted to see if thought it would work for my bike? Ive attached a pic with the bikes geometry if that helps. If not, is there a rack that you recommend? Thank You

Thule tells is it wouldn't be safe to carry a bike that exceeds the maximum allowable 48 inch wheelbase of their EasyFold # TH903202 Bike Rack. We do have an option that would work great for you, though.

From the specs I saw when I researched your bike, the Benno Boost E model has a 49.4 inch wheelbase, 2.6 inch wide tires and weighs 65 lbs. Yakima offers the OnRamp bike rack, part # Y36FR for a 2 inch receiver compatible rack or # Y96FR for a 1-1/4 inch receiver compatible rack. The OnRamp would be an excellent choice for your e-bikes.

The OnRamp holds the bike by the bottom of the wheels and the top frame tube or seat post tube, so it can be used with bikes equipped with fenders, like yours. The rack can handle bikes weighing up to 66 lbs with wheelbases up to 50 inches, and the rack can accommodate bike tires up to 3-1/4 inch wide.

The rack even features an integrated ramp that makes loading bikes much easier than trying to wrangle them in by lifting them. The rack includes a cable lock to secure the bikes to the rack. An optional # Y07235 Yakima HitchLock makes the anti-rattle pin included with the rack lockable to secure the rack to the vehicle hitch.

I'll link you to a product demonstration video featuring the Yakima OnRamp.
