Properly Grounding my trailer wiring on my 2016 Subaru WRX
Question:
I have a wiring harness, and thought I would do the wiring while awaiting arrival of my hitch for 2016 wrx. Can you shed any light on how the tail lights on the car are grounded, as none of the wires appear continuous with ground? Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
On your 2016 Subaru WRX there will be a designated ground wire that runs to each bulb as part of the factory wiring harness.
I would recommend leaving this alone and attaching your ground wire from your trailer wiring harness like the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56259 directly to the vehicle chassis.
This can be seen in the video I have linked for you on an install we did on a 2017 WRX.
