Bike Rack Recommendation for 70 Lb Electric Bikes With 4 inch Wide Tires

Question:

Im getting two electric bikes with tires that are 20 in diameter and 4 wide. Which bike rack will handle them up to 70 pounds each?

The fact that your bikes are pretty heavy and have wide tires makes finding a compatible rack a bit of a challenge, but I do have a rack that would very likely work for you.

The obvious choice would be the Thule EasyFold, part # TH903202. The rack can handle bikes up to 65 lbs apiece, if you would remove the battery packs, that should bring the weight of each bike to or below the 65 lb weight capacity of the rack. With the addition of the separately available Fat Bike Strap kit, part # TH985101, the rack will easily accommodate your 4 inch wide tires.

I'll admit this is an expensive bike rack, but it does include many really nice features such as integrated locking clamps to hold the bikes in place and a locking anti-rattle hitch pin system. The rack also offers an on-board ramp to make loading those heavy bikes a breeze. The rack tilts away from the vehicle allowing easy cargo area access while the bikes are in place, and the rack will even fold for storage. Another nice feature, the rack has built-in rollers that make it super-easy to transport it from where you're storing it to the vehicle. The clamps that hold the bikes in place can be adjusted to hold the bikes by either the top tube or the seat post tube. I've yet to see a bike that won't fit on it.

If you click the provided link, you can see a demonstration video featuring the # TH903202 Thule EasyFold bike rack.
