Which Trialer Hitch and Ball Mount Should I Use To Tow a Small Trailer With My 1999 Isuzu Rodeo

Question:

I have a 99 Isuzu Rodeo RWD with an under-mount spare tire, and need to tow a small trailer. I know I need to get a class II or III trailer hitch, and a ball mount, but Im not sure what kind to get.

I would recommend a Class III hitch over a Class II hitch in any situation where a Class III hitch is available. Even though you only need to tow a small trailer today your needs may change in the future and the class II hitch may not be able to do what you need. Another upside to the Class III hitch is that there are many more accessories designed to fit the Class III hitch. For just a few dollars more you will have more towing capacity, safety and convenience.

The Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, part # 75093 would be a great choice for your vehicle and is easy to install with a no drill installation. It fits the Rodeos that have a spare mounted under the vehicle. Below I have listed the items you may need when installing and towing with this hitch.

Wiring # 118360
Drawbar # C45010
1-7/8 inch Ball # 19260
2 inch Ball # 19247
Hitch Locks # e98880
Pin and Clip # PC3
