What is the towing capacity of Draw-Tite Class III trailer hitch and will fit my 2009 Jeep Commander
Question:
I am just wondering the towing capacity of this product? Also, is this a good product to purchase, compared to other hitch recievers that are out there for the jeep commander 2006? The only thing I am wanting to tow at this time, is a trailer and my one four wheeler.

Expert Reply:
The weight capacities of the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75338 are 5000 pounds towing with 500 pounds tongue weight and if you have a weight distribution hitch 7500 pounds with 750 pound tongue weight.
This is an excellent hitch for your Jeep Commander and will be more than adequate for a four wheeler on a small utility trailer. With this hitch you will also have the option of using many different accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers. The hitch will be limited by the lowest rated towing components capacity either the vehicle, the hitch the drawbar or the accessory being used. You will need to check your vehicles ratings before towing.
Along with this hitch you may also need a drawbar # C45010, pin and clip # PC3, appropriately sized hitch ball
# 19260 or # 19247 and vehicle wiring harness # 118408 for your Commander.
