Troubleshooting Tekonsha Primus IQ Displaying Two Dots Only

Question:

My car has just started displaying the 2 dots permanently. It use to display the numbers when I was breaking with or without a trailer. When a trailer is hooked up the tail lights all work but I have no electric breaks from my controller. It just seems to be stuck in that setting. Primus iq displaying . . at all times

Your Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 showing the two dots shows you have power to the controller without trailer connection. The issue with the brakes not working is that the controller isn't seeing connection to the trailer. The issue with connection is likely at the 5 o'clock pin of the trailer connector. You likely need to use some sand paper to clean up some corrosion to give you a clean connection and then use dielectric grease # 11755.
