Is Vehicle Wiring Harness Waterproof?

When not in use, you can store the connector and wires of your Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496 in your rear light compartment or even just in your trunk. If you want to keep it outside, most people who do so mount it to the bracket on their hitch.

If your hitch doesn't have that bracket, you can easily attach a bracket like # 18144. You won't need to worry about it getting wet as long as you put the cover on your 4-pole connector which you can see in the picture I attached. Also make sure all your spliced wires are correctly insulated. You can pick up more butt connectors like # DW05745-5 if you used up all the ones included in your Wiring Harness Kit # C59496.
