Will the Thule Outbound Roof Mount Cargo Bag Fit a 2011 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

2011 Toyota 4 runner with toyota cross members are not 40 inches apart,about 36. Do I leave the back of t he bag on top of the bar and how will the straps attach?

Ideally, the Thule Outbound cargo bag # TH868 will set in between the crossbars on the vehicle. However since this is not always possible the bag can rest on top of the bars and the straps would attach as they normally would.

Be sure that the bottom of the bag and the roof are clean to avoid scratches. You could also use roof protector # RL100650. Also make sure that you stay within the capacity of the roof rack or roof, whichever is lower.

Another option is to go with a slightly shorter bag like the SportRack Vista, # SR8106, which is 35 inches long and should nestle in between the crossbars on your 2011 4Runner perfectly.
