Why Would Running Lights of Trailer Being On Causing Both Blinkers to Flash

When I have the running lights on and use my turn signals both sides flash 2001 chevy Silverado 1500 4×4

Expert Reply:
You have a short between the running light circuit and the turn signals on your trailer. You are going to have to go over the wiring of the trailer and see if you can find any cut or exposed wire between those two circuits and insulate the circuits as needed with electrical tape.
