Tire Chain Recommendations for a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe

Question:

Hey - Im going to Yellowstone from Nashville over Thanksgiving. I have a 2019 Tahoe 4x4 w Wrangler 265/65R18s on it. I have a bit of trouble getting up under the truck, so would appreciate some insight as to the best set of chains for this limited run. Thanks in advance

For your 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe with 265/65R18 tires, we have two great options for chains.

The first is the Pewag All Square Mud Service Snow Chains, part # PWE2439S. The chains are for on-road and off-road use to get you through a variety of terrains including mud, snow, and ice. The steel square links, made from nickel manganese alloy, are durable and rust-resistant. The connection is made by draping over the tire, then fastening under the truck. I've linked to a video review installation of these chains.

The second set of chains is the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains, part # TH01571267. These chains are also for on and off-road use, and work great for snow and ice. These chains come complete with a rubber tensioner (unlike the Pewag above) and a mat. The connection is made with a tube that eliminates the need to lay on the ground. I've linked to a video installation of these chains as well.

Personally, I recommend the Pewag because of its capability of handling more terrains and its overall sturdier build. However, if the under-vehicle connection is not on option, the Konig is a great option that will really simplify that process for you.

Both of these come in a set of two, so if you want to cover all tires, you'll need to buy two sets.
