Fighting Trailer Sway on 35 Foot Trailer Pulled With 2018 Ford F-350

Question:

I have a f-350 single wheel drive pickup “2018” model. Pulling a 35’ Rockwood TT w/7,400lb dry weight. Have a blue ox weight distribution hitch with 1000 lb bars. Having sway problem with new trailer.hitch weight is well within hitch weight standard. Having trouble getting sway out of trailer at 60mph. Working with dealer to adjust hitch, however a friend asked me if I have sway control engaged on my truck. I didn’t know about this but found it is engaged on. Question should sway control be on or off in cab of truck when using the blue ox. Are they working against each other as my friend suggests? Thx

I reached out to Blue Ox directly and was able to confirm that with the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution system # BXW1000 you will get the best results with the sway control mode turned off on your 2018 Ford F-350.

If with the sway control turned off you are still getting too much trailer sway when towing, you may need to move to a different weight distribution system like the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU77FR is made for trailers that have quite a bit of sway on a regular basis. I attached a video of the Blue Ox TrackPro for you to take a look at.
