Higher Capacity Trailer Tire for Size 18.5x8.5x8

Question:

I will be hauling two snowmobiles each weighing approx. 450 lbs. Current tires on trailer are 18.5x8.5x8 on 5 hole wheel with load rating c. Wondering if i should upgrade to load rating d on galvanized wheels to take into account for added weight of trailer itself, snow and ice build up, and additional equipment srapped on ie: gas cans, coolers, etc.. Trailer is 8x10 single axle two bed trailer.

In a Load Range D of the tire size you have of 18.5x8.5x8 which is also known as the size 215/60-8 we have the part # AM1HP28. This tire has a capacity of 1,165 lbs per tire whereas the Load Range C has a capacity of 940 lbs.

You'd have to check out the weight of your trailer as it would be when loaded to determine if you'd need the additional capacity.

For a part number with this tire on a 5 bolt wheel we have the # AM3H325 as well.
