Trailer Wheel and Tire for Trailer with Size ST205/75-15

Question:

The attached photo shows the tire/wheel specs for my trailer. Trailer is a 2008 Tandem axle #7,000 GVWR. It still has the Listed tire and wheel size installed. I am looking to purchase new tires and possibly wheels as well. Should I stick with Bias or change to Radial? And if I go to radial and purchase new wheels would a 15x5 rim work okay since the 6” is specified? It seems like the 15x6 are harder to find. I’m assuming this tire size is compatible with both wheel sizes.

I would definitely recommend going with a radial tire instead of the bias ply that your trailer originally came with. You'll end up with a smoother and more stable ride quality and the tires overall will last longer. Going to a 5 inch wide wheel would not be an issue either since that's the standard size.

My favorite wheel and tire to recommend in this size is the Provider part # TTWTRTM2057515C. This radial tire has an automotive type tread design to give you the best traction, a higher speed rating, and has a great warranty.
