Is The Support Strap Needed for Curt or Draw-Tite Hitch on 2017 Toyota Prius with Bike Rack
Question:
Hi, I just purchased drawtite #24966 and I intend to transport an e bike and I have a bike rack which is in the link below. RKY87RR In order to use this on my prime do I need a support strap? Or can I do without it? Also with draw tite vs Curt which one seems more suitable for this type of setup? Many thanks,

Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24966 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11473 are both great options for a 2017 Toyota Prius. I can't really honestly say one is better than the other. They will work well with any class I rated bike rack such as the RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo Bike Rack # RKY87RR. The Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap part # 18050 won't be required for either hitch but it is a good idea to use since it will help the bike rack be more stable during transit which puts less of a strain on the hitch/vehicle.
