Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for my 420-590 Tongue Weight Camper.

Question:

The hitch capacity of my TV is 600lbs. The measured tongue weight is 420lbs, ready to camp. Occasionally Ill put 50 - 80 lbs forward of the TV axle, but I understand this doesnt affect capacity. If I go to a two 6v battery system Im now at about 480 lbs on the ball. I occasionally tow with a full fresh water tank, which will add 117 lbs to the ball. Add to that the weight of the WDH itself assume 80lbs, and worse case Im at 670-680 lbs on the ball. So, what hitch system and weight rating of bars should I get to safely cover both situations?

We can get this figured out. Thanks for all of the information provided. It goes a long way in being able to determine exactly what you need. One thing to keep in mind is that the weight of the system is actually not added into the equation. It has a self balancing design and when set up has no weight added to the equation.

That means you are going to be between 420-590 in tongue weight regardless of the configuration you choose for that trip. With that in mind the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-0800 would be an excellent fit. It offers two points of sway control to keep everything going the right direction and a 400-800 lb. tongue weight range. This will put you right in the sweet spot of the system without having to worry about maxing it out and not getting the results you want.

The 2" Hitch Ball part # A-90 from Curt and the 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket part # ALL643216 are needed if you do not already have them to complete the set up.
