Comparing Dacromet Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assemblies for 10 Inch Hubs

Question:

What is the difference between the AKFBBRK-35-D and the AKUBRK-35-D Brake assemblies? As I understand both of these include both a Right and Left Hand assemblies? Is bolt hardware included? Can you think of any other questions I should ask?

The Hydraulic Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Free Backing - Dacromet - 10" - Left/Right Hand - 3,500 lbs # AKFBBRK-35-D and the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Dacromet - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # AKUBRK-35-D are similar. The difference is the # AKUBRK-35-D is not a free-backing assembly meaning you will still have about 20% braking when in reverse without a reverse lockout solenoid or manual lockout. The # AKFBBRK-35-D is "free backing" meaning it will not apply the brake shoes when backing up even if you don't use a lockout system. Both part numbers include assemblies for both right and left side, so it is a kit for one axle.

You will also need the Mounting Hardware for 10" Brake Assemblies # BRKH10B and a Brake Adjustment Spoon for Drum Brakes # W80630 to adjust the brake shoes.
